Former Scouts NSW member Grant De Fries has issued an apology to the Chief Executive Officer Carolyn Campbell, Chief Commissioner Lloyd Nurthen and former Chair of the Scouts NSW Board of Directors Kerry McGoldrick.
Please see the apology in full below.
To whom it may concern From around March 2024, I distributed a document that I prepared entitled "Report of concerns raised into the conduct of the Scouts Association of Australia NSW Branch relating to breaches of the Australian Charities and Not For Profit Governance Guidelines" (Document). The Document contained a series of allegations against The Scout Association of Australia NSW Branch (Scouts NSW), Carolyn Campbell, the Chief Executive of Scouts NSW, Kerry McGoldrick, the former Chair of Scouts NSW, and Lloyd Nurthen, the Chief Commissioner of Scouts NSW. I accept that the allegations made in the Document concerning Ms Campbell are untrue and should not have been made. I unreservedly withdraw them and sincerely apologise to Ms Campbell for any hurt and embarassment caused by its contents. I also unreservedly withdraw, and do not maintain, the allegations in the Document against Mr McGoldrick, Mr Nurthen and Scouts NSW. I do not assert that those allegations are true. I have given an undertaking not to repeat any of the allegations in the future. Grant De Fries Dated: 12.9.24 |
