2024 Adult Recognition Award (ARA) recipients

Congratulations to the 369 adult volunteers in Scouts NSW who were recognised in this year’s Scouts Australia Adult Recognition Awards.
On World Scout Day, we reflect on the remarkable contribution each member and supporter of Scouting makes every day. These incredible volunteers are recognised not just for the longevity of their service, but for the quality of their Leadership, within both their individual Units and Groups and to Scouts as a whole.
The ARAs are part of the Scout Association’s observance of the founding of Scouting at the first Scout Camp held at Brownsea Island in the UK on 1 August 1907.
Chief Commissioner Lloyd Nurthen commended the recipients on their achievements.
“Our volunteers are the backbone of our organisation and keep our Movement thriving,” he said.
“They are our everyday heroes, shaping young people’s lives for the better, while challenging and finding out a whole lot about themselves in the process. Week after week, our volunteers empower thousands of young people to learn new skills, make new friends and stand on their own two feet.
“The volunteers recognised in today’s awards have gone above and beyond in their dedication to our youth members, their fellow volunteers and the Scouting Movement. It’s a privilege to work alongside you and watch you achieve highly in your chosen pathways.”
