The Youth Team is the State portfolio responsible for engaging, supporting, and empowering youth members of Scouts NSW to realise their leadership and personal development potential through their Scouting Journey.
Our Purpose
We listen to and advocate for the voice of young people within Scouts NSW, enabling the Regions and wider State Team to ensure our Movement is youth-led, adult-supported.
The Youth Team focus on three key initiatives throughout the year, including:
- State Youth Forum
- State Youth Council
- Scout of the Year Awards
as well as many other Project Patrols and providing youth input to organisational initatives and major events as they arise.

Our Team
Our team is led by the Assistant Chief Commissioner – Youth, who is supported by the State Commissioner – Youth Empowerment, State Commissioner – Youth Engagement and State Leader/s - Youth Support. The team provides the adult support to the youth-led initiatives above, and supports youth leading, adult supporting Scouting within the Regions and wider State Team.
