VISION

Through fun and friendship, Scouts will inspire and create resilient young people and adults, by developing skills for life and contributing to our community.

MISSION

Scouting develops and empowers youth by gaining life skills and a value system, based on the Scout Promise and Law, building a better world and playing a constructive role in society.

2023-2024 Strategic Plan

For more than 100 years, Scouting has enabled young people to participate in outdoor adventure activities and push personal boundaries, developing their resilience, confidence and leadership capabilities. We know young people are passionate, and as the priorities of a new generation change, so must we.

Scouting is shaping the future by giving young people the opportunities and the support to thrive and be heard.

The 2023-2024 Strategic Plan aims to deliver sustainable growth into the future, by getting more NSW youth actively participating in great program experiences supported by empowered volunteer leaders. The three strategic themes are

To make the life-skilling adventures and experiences of Scouting accessible and appealing to more young people

PEOPLE AND CULTURE

Create an enabling culture with a strong sense of belonging, inclusion and confidence for the future

SUSTAINABILITY AND OPERATIONS

Take steps to ensure financial viability, simpler processes and easier interface with all Scouts NSW touchpoints

Developing the Strategic Plan

Beginning in 2022, a group comprising both uniformed and non-uniformed members and supporters began developing the strategic plan. The final version of the plan was officially launched to the organisation on Saturday 1 April, 2023.

The focus of the plan was to:

Set a positive direction for our future
Be collaborative and develop a strategic plan that all can relate to
Make sure the plan is bold and ambitious, but achievable.

Through rigorous feedback and consultation, we are excited to be able to bring this strategic plan to life.

We have an amazing legacy and a strong foundation, and we will continue to build upon it with clear direction. We will listen to our youth, empowering them to take the lead and help to shape the future of the movement.

The next 18 months will be our opportunity to focus and deliver on what is important to our movement and to set ourselves up for a bright and successful future. Leaders - submit your Region/District/Group Action Plan here.
